I had to try different types of tubing until I settled on the stuff I used, and almost broke my pc with a water leak in my initial tubing run, but I caught it and managed to save my components by drying them out.Anyways, just wanted to share that a custom loop in this case with 2 240mm radiators is certainly possible if you're interested in it, albeit it's a pretty tight fit.Damn awesome work man, I can't imagine how much time you had to spend drilling those holes, but they look damn uniform for something that was done by handNew comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castAll about small form factor PCs–decreasing size and maximizing space efficiency!Press J to jump to the feed. That combined with the over 2000 precision holes on the back and side panels, plus the ability to support multiple fans in virtually any location, results in excellent airflow and cooling performance. 81 comments. There were a lot of problems I had to deal with, but eventually I got everything together and working which was a big relief. The build is using the Bykski radeon VII RGB water block (with the lighting turned off most of the time), along with the swiftech apogee drive ii cpu block/pump combo, the 240mm alphacool crossflow radiator (which also doubles as my reservoir) mounted flush with the side panel, and a slim 20.5mm thick 240mm radiator from XSPC.These are all paired with 4 120mm slim noctua fans (2 intakes and 2 exhaust) mounted to the radiator, and 1 92mm intake fan mounted to the back of the case. The first real challenge I faced was with mounting the bottom radiator, which is kind of difficult to see in the picture, but you can see the slim noctua fans peeking out pretty easily and one of the water tubes. Even a 240 mm radiator can be accommodated in the housing unit. The only exception is the bracket for the power supply, which actually consists of two larger frames. ... Coke cooling.
After discovering this I came across a mod posted here a while back about modding the holes of the streacom DA2 to be larger to better help airflow, so, I set out with a drill and drilled the holes on the side panel to be larger, and lo and behold, the temperature difference between the side panel being on vs off pretty much completely disappeared. Instead of trays and brackets, slidable braces are used, to which the hardware is fastened and whose position can be adapted to the respective hardware. To my dismay, the video card ended up being just thick enough that they wouldn't fit, and instead I needed to mount the fans and radiator both underneath the bracket, however, they ended up pressing directly against the bottom of the case initially, choking it for airflow entirely.
The airflow here still isn't great, and it would benefit from the bottom of the case being ventilated, but I'm pretty happy with the results where they are right now.Next, after I leak tested and bled air from the loop, I finally booted it up and was pretty disappointed with temperatures. The power cord is then routed from the front to the back. The clever cooling concept, which thanks to the flexible bracket concept can also be set up largely at will, is similarly spartan. This is slightly less secure, but it's still secure enough after tightening the screws that I'm pretty comfortable with it. Removable dust filters are on the top and bottom and behind a side panel. I'd done plenty of small form factor builds in the SG13 and one in the DA2 before, but this was on a completely different level of challenging. Posted by 6 days ago.
I wanted to share my build since I haven't really seen anyone talk about anything similar, and I think custom water loops in small form factor cases are generally pretty rare overall, but they're very interesting and provide for some really interesting builds.I ended up pursuing this mostly because I wanted to better cool my GPU, which was throttling pretty hard to around 1550-1600 MHz from 1800 Mhz and hitting 85C very quickly, not to mention that it was VERY loud.

At stock speeds, my CPU was hitting up to 82C and my GPU was still sitting at 85C and throttling itself. Additionally I wanted some headroom to overclock my CPU since the stock 2700 clock speeds leave a bit to be desired.I'm now comfortably sitting with a CPU overclock of 4.0 GHz and the stock GPU settings, with temperatures for both peaking around the high 60s C with some small spikes into the low 70s C under load.Anyways onto some of the actual info about this build.
